Dana and Josh’s first look was set under a canopy of mangos and avocados, at the Treehouse lookout at Hotel Wailea estate. A gorgeous way to start their wedding day!
This happy couple originally met while working at a restaurant in Saratoga Springs, NY. Josh had recently returned home after travelling abroad and Dana was new to Saratoga. It was perfect timing.
Josh proposed on the 4th of July at his family’s lake house in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. So romantic!
Maui holds a special place in their hearts, so they were beyond excited to share this stunning island with their family and closest friends.
The ceremony took place on the Sunset Lawn, providing a sweeping panoramic view of the Pacific. The couple incorporated elements of Jewish tradition, mindfulness and boho décor. Dana wore an elegant silk wedding gown, and Josh sported a tan suit and traditional ti leaf maile lei. Gorgeous florals and bouquets held earth tones and muted colors, accentuating the artistic bohemian style while the duo shared their I Do’s under a floral arch.
Aloha Akoni played ukulele throughout the ceremony, and the married couple’s recessional song was “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, played by Akoni.
The reception was enjoyed by all, with four separate lounge areas, all providing a uniquely curated mood with live edge coffee tables, bamboo pendants, tiki torches, and magnificent double peacock woven chairs. The Catered Coconut presented a unique and interactive refreshment, serving up fresh coconuts at the live action chopping station for guests.
Chef Etheredge of Cutting Edge Catering provided delicious pupus and meals for guests. While Maunalei Sweets delivered handcrafted hibiscus flower, seashell and monstera cookies, lemon tarts, and a wonderful naked frosted wedding cake with white chocolate, cream cheese and buttercream filling.
Dana and Josh’s favorite part about working with Rodrigo Moraes Photography? “Rodrigo is fun, relaxed and confident. He makes you feel so comfortable in front of his camera. Our photoshoot on the beach was seriously one of the highlights of the wedding!”
And their wise advice to future couples on their wedding day? “Your wedding is probably the only time in your life that you will have everyone meaningful to you all together in one place – so be grateful for every moment!”
Guests dined and danced, celebrating with the newlyweds. The festivities continued with an afterparty at Manoli’s Pizza Company. It was a perfect ocean-side destination wedding in Maui!
Congrats Dana & Josh!
