After two+ years of pandemic delays, Alexa & Tyler tied the knot with all their favorite people present in paradise!
The couple had hoped for a ceremony exactly like this. Lighthearted, full of “The Office” TV Show humor and silly puns, sprinkled with heartwarming vows.
The Couple’s Musical Choices
Processional: “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty
Recessional: “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole
First Dance: “Dela” by Jonny Clegg
This Maui wedding presented wonderful surprises. A heartfelt message from Tyler’s best man who was on deployment, an unexpected transition during the father/daughter dance into Dyer Maker by Led Zeppelin, and a thoughtful memento, a ceremony book signed from all guests, from the officiant to the couple.
The bride was stunning in a Carol Hannah wedding gown, with lace bodice and flowy dramatic train. Something borrowed, something new! Alexa wore antique earrings from her late grandmother, and a beautiful gold bracelet gifted from her mom along with a diamond bracelet borrowed from her Maid of Honor. The bridesmaids in dark purple gowns and groomsman in Hawaiian print Aloha shirts complemented Tyler’s custom suit from Indochino.
Greenery, purple tones, and eclectic mismatched purple and white water goblets adorned the tables, complete with wildflower bouquets and centerpieces from Fernhouse Flowers Maui.
How was your experience working with Rodrigo Moraes Photography?
“Rodrigo and his team are AMAZING! He was the perfect energy for our personalities, laid back but focused on capturing beautiful images. Rodrigo is an expert in his field and provided a variety of photos (light, moody, happy, serious, laughing, candid). He kept the experience fun so we never felt posed or uncomfortable, and we didn’t miss out on any of our wedding day. Rodrigo’s energy made me feel like he was truly excited to be sharing this day with us!”
The long-awaited dance party was one of the couples’ favorite parts of the entire day! And they loved their finale song “Levels” by Avici.
Alexa & Tyler’s Advice to Those Couples Planning Now ~
“Soak up every minute! Take time to be present in the moment! If you’re not ecstatically joyful and happy on the day of your wedding (especially if you’re lucky enough to be getting married in Hawaii) then you’re doing something wrong! Surround yourself with people that bring you joy and want to celebrate you. Do what you want and don’t appease anyone else. Remember that this day is magical because it may be the only time you have that exact group of people all in one place together!”
We couldn’t agree more - your wedding day is the perfect time to live it up and be authentically yourselves! A big congratulations to this fun couple and we wish you much Aloha in the years to come!
