Sunset Cruise

Whitney and Christopher held their luxurious Ka’anapali Beach wedding at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. The day before, they had a pre-wedding celebration on a Sea Maui sunset cruise going out of Ka’anapali. We all know engagement sessions are also a way to get comfortable with your photographer, but something like this welcome sunset cruise is also great! I had the opportunity to come on board and document the evening with the entire wedding crew. It was the perfect way to meet everyone before the big day. The winds were light, and the sunset was stunning. It was an average day here on Maui.

Ka’anapali Beach Wedding Day

It was a beautiful day in Lahaina. The sun was shining, and not a cloud in the sky. The bridal suite was calm while Whitney was getting ready for the big day. She wore a gorgeous lace detail dress by Grace Loves Lace that went perfectly with the luxurious and tropical Hawaiian setting. We headed to the courtyard, where the two shared their intimate first look, surrounded by small waterfalls and trickling streams. They exchanged a private, handwritten letter to one another while flamingos hung around nearby. It was a peaceful and private moment leading up to the ceremony.

A Traditional Hawaiian Ceremony

Guests arrived and took their seats with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Rev. Tino Rosete led the ceremony. He started with the traditional Hawaiian way of blowing the conch shell. The couple shared their own vows and happily walked hand in hand down the aisle. Everyone gathered for a cocktail hour while the family formals took place. The cocktails were named after their dogs! Each pup had a photo next to their drink on the menu. The table settings were remarkable, and not one detail was missed for this luxurious Ka’anapali Beach wedding. We walked down to the beach for bride and groom portraits and made our way to the reception, where we danced into the night.
