Maui Elopement Photography at Ironwoods & Dragon’s Teeth

Ashley and Matt decided to ditch the big wedding and go for something more intimate–an elopement in Maui with a focus on photography. They connected with me through “Elope in Hawaii,” my elopement planning business to help plan the whole thing, and it was smooth sailing from there. From picking the perfect spots like Ironwoods Beach for the ceremony to capturing awesome shots at Dragon’s Teeth and Honolua Bay, we took care of every detail. It was about keeping things simple and stress-free, allowing them to focus on enjoying their special day.

A Journey of Love

Ashley and Matt met back in 2015, both not looking for anything serious or long-term. They quickly found they shared numerous interests like traveling, live music shows, being outdoors, and enjoying delicious food anywhere and everywhere. They realized they had found something very comfortable and special. Over the past 9 years, they’ve experienced so much together—moving from Texas to Colorado, traveling throughout the US and internationally, surviving a pandemic, and more! Matt proposed in May 2021 in the beautiful mountains of Colorado at St. Mary’s Glacier. They were going to elope in Italy but changed their minds to Maui since they’ve been coming here for a long time and the islands are a big part of their lives.

Ashley & Matt’s Intimate Maui Elopement Photography

Ashley and Matt’s ceremony at Ironwoods Beach was something special. They tied the knot cliffside with the waves crashing in the background and the traditional blowing of the conch shell. Ashley’s friend from back home did her hair and makeup, adding a personal touch. Only a few friends and family attended, making it intimate and sweet. Their connection was so beautiful to witness. The day was sunny and windy in Kapalua, and we got the most amazing blue hour for photos at Dragon’s Teeth, capturing every perfect moment.
