Olowalu Plantation House Wedding | Abbey + Ryan
Abbey and Ryan discovered me through Instagram, and we had the chance to meet in person when they visited Maui about a year before their wedding. During that trip, I also had the pleasure of doing their engagement photos. I was thrilled when they mentioned, “We ran across your profile on Instagram, and your shooting style is spot on for our tastes.” I was even more excited to learn that they were planning an Olowalu Plantation House wedding. It’s such a stunning venue, and I’m always honored to photograph weddings there.
The Experience of an Olowalu Plantation House Wedding
If you want to truly feel like you’re getting married in paradise, then Olowalu Plantation House is where you want to be. This Maui wedding venue is right by the ocean, surrounded by swaying palm trees and stunning views. The plantation-style house adds a nostalgic touch, evoking the charm of old Hawaii.
One of the most appealing aspects of this venue is its versatility. Whether you want a small, intimate wedding or a large celebration, they can accommodate your preferences. The natural beauty of the surroundings means minimal decorations are needed – the setting speaks for itself. And let’s not overlook the sunset – it’s always incredible. The sky transforms into a canvas. A wedding at Olowalu Plantation House promises an unforgettable experience filled with natural beauty, romance, and the warm aloha spirit of Hawaii.
It was a beautiful January day, and the couple had assembled a fantastic crew. The energy was incredibly high, and they made me feel like one of the guests. We hit it off during their planning, and I have to say, they’re an incredibly cool couple. One unique thing they did was create a vinyl record with their favorite songs, using photos from our engagement session as the cover. Additionally, they had each guest take a headshot wearing heart-shaped sunglasses that were passed around during cocktail hour. Their vows were heartfelt, and all in all, it was a wonderful day!
