Across maui and hawaii

Wedding Photography

What draws you to hawaii?

You’ve either got a list with a bunch of ands… or it’s hard to put into words.

Trust me, I get it. Hawaii isn’t just a place, but a state of being that tugs at you, heart and soul. I was only supposed to live here for a single year… and that was twenty years ago.

This place is intoxicatingly perfect.

So why would you do anything othe than

this isn’t just a highlight reel. it’s a story of your entire day.

“The day of our wedding felt so natural. He provided some initial direction here and there but really allowed us (and our bridal party) to be ourselves and it never felt like we had to “pose.” He captured all moments of the day so well, including things we didn’t get to appreciate the day of such as venue details and guest arrival.”

All organic

That counts for both food and photo direction

Here’s how I approach life and photography: Natural is best.

Instead of posing you and making the process feel awkward or inauthentic, I’ll guide you toward organic moments with as much, or as little, direction as you need.

As your day unfolds naturally, I’ll be close by to document, guide, and celebrate alongside you.

Taking care of my couples, it’s just what I do

Tell me what you need, and I’ll make it happen.

Everyone is unique, so what I offer is unique too. It all depends on what will make your day exactly what you imagined. I work with wedding planners or couples DIYing it. I give you all the guidance you want or let you take the lead.

But here’s the most important thing to know—the end result is always the same. Intimate, intentional images that are focused on your connection and emotion.

What happens next?

01

before

We’ll jump on a phone call to talk about your wedding day ideas and how I can help. I can assist in building your timeline if you don’t have a planner, and am always here to share my recommendations for local vendors or can’t-miss spots. (Want to know my favorite spot for beers on the beach? Just ask.) If you’re visiting the islands to celebrate your engagement, let’s talk about couples photos to celebrate!

02

During

I’ll help you relax in front of the camera with easy conversation. I’m here to provoke organic moments, never set something up or create something inauthentic. I’ll be with you all day, and even though I’ve got a knack for hanging back when you need a private moment, you can trust that I’m always close by, documenting your celebration.

After

I am passionate about my unique editing style, which highlights the true colors of Maui and showcases intimate emotions and the truth of your love story. I dedicate time to editing your images, and you can expect a large gallery of between 60-100 images per hour of coverage (usually more) 6-12 weeks after your wedding day.

“Not only is Rodrigo a fantastic photographer with such a unique and beautiful style, he was a joy to work with. He was responsive, kind, and upbeat, and we were so comfortable with him around. It truly felt like having another loved one with us on our wedding day.”

FAQS

I use all full-frame mirrorless Nikon cameras and prime lenses, but If you want to get more technical let me know and I can send you a full gear list.

Splurge on an awesome (tidy) hotel room or a unique (tidy) location for your getting ready photos, do a first look, keep lighting as natural as possible by utilizing windows and outdoor locations, don’t let your DJ talk you into colored mood lighting at your reception, outdoor receptions are best for natural light photographers, have your ceremony close to sunset if you’re getting married outside, splurge on the photographer and videographer of your dreams (your photos and videos will outlive your cake and flowers), and the great outdoors will always make for prettier backdrops than indoor locations.

A first look is a wedding life-saver. It just is. Trust me.

I like to spend about 15 minutes taking a few quick family photos. I like to be as time efficient with those as possible so you can enjoy your day. If you want a picture with your third cousin, we can grab that at the reception.

I normally deliver between 60 and 100 images per hour of coverage. I love to spoil my clients, though, so it’s likely you’ll receive way more.

My turnaround time is in 8-12 weeks, but I tend to send sneak peeks a couple days after the wedding. I’ll let you know when your full gallery good and ready.

Not since 2002.

No sir! You’ll receive all of the photos that I took of your day, less any blinking, lame faces, or safety shots we may have taken. We fancy our editing style and never deliver any images that are incomplete.

No way! You’ll get a link for your private online gallery where you can download all the high res photos right to your computer and purchase professional prints if you desire.

Certainly! You can use any of your photos as long as you promise not to crop or alter them in any way.
