Elopement Photography at Ironwoods Beach | Jennifer + Ian

Jennifer and Ian picked me to capture their intimate elopement photography at Ironwoods Beach in Kapalua. The vibes were beautiful, with lots of love in the air. Despite the strong winds, we managed to work around them - just part of the deal with cliffside elopements. Everyone was fully present and engaged throughout the day, allowing me to document all the emotions and reactions more candidly. There were photo ops galore from start to finish!

Jennifer and Ian's story began at the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2015. Jennifer was the team photographer, and Ian an intern in baseball ops. Their paths crossed often, with Jennifer even capturing memorable moments like Ian in a donut-eating contest. After Jennifer left in 2016 to pursue her own business, their lives continued to intersect at MLB events. In 2019, during a game, a casual nod led to Ian's boss urging him to reconnect with Jennifer. He did, and their first date was so perfect that they went hiking the next day. Their connection was instant.

Fast forward to a trip to Maui-- they planned for some quiet time before the busy holidays. Little did Jennifer know, Ian had a surprise in store. Despite initially planning just a getaway, Ian decided it was the perfect moment to propose. With wild weather that kept them indoors for the first day, a break in the clouds just before sunset on Wailea Beach Path set the stage for a magical proposal. As they took selfies, Ian, with a ring hidden in his eyeglass case, asked Jennifer to set up her phone for a scenic shot. She did, thinking they would capture a few frames, but to her surprise, Ian got down on one knee. And the moment was on video.

Maui Elopement Photography with Intimate Moments

They printed a newspaper-style invitation with the itinerary, which was fantastic. The wedding was super intimate, with only family members. Ian's mom helped him get ready, which was a sweet moment. Then, the first look between Jennifer and her dad was incredibly special and emotional.
