Surprise Proposal in Hawaii at Po’olenalena Beach Park

When Justin reached out with a vision of a surprise proposal in Hawaii for his lady Danna, we got right to work on planning the perfect evening. Together, we built a strategic game plan to execute his romantic scheme flawlessly, and it unfolded like a dream. Their attraction to my work's moody and cinematic style paved the way for our collaboration. Justin wanted to ensure we could capture some golden hour photos with the sunset, so we planned the proposal perfectly that evening.

JUSTIN SURPRISES DANNA WITH A PROPOSAL IN HAWAII

On a gorgeous afternoon in Wailea, Justin and Danna met me at the parking lot at Po'olenalena Beach Park, disguising the real purpose of our get-together as a casual couples' session. Little did Danna know, the moment was ripe for Justin to spring the question, and it was an absolute surprise. What made it even wilder was that she had a ring to give to Justin. We nailed this night, and I couldn’t be happier with how it went.

HOW TO PERFECT YOUR SURPRISE PROPOSAL

Planning a proposal is already stressful, but adding a surprise proposal photoshoot can make it even more exhilarating. So, here are some tips to help you pull off a surprise proposal as seamlessly as Justin and Danna did!

  • Ensure you both look and feel your best, and yes, this tip might be more directed towards the ladies (wink). Most women appreciate having their nails done. Let's face it - there will be those ring shots that are a must. To keep things under wraps while getting her all set – involve her friends in the process – it's a clever way to avoid suspicion!
  • Establish clear communication and have a backup plan in place. Be sure you can effectively communicate with your photographer leading up to the big event. To avoid suspicion, consider using a code name for your photographer, perhaps a friend's name. Additionally, it's wise to have a secondary location in mind if anything unusual or overcrowded occurs. That's why I recommend opting for a quieter, less-known spot.
  • Walk through your entire plan with your photographer. Just like a rehearsal dinner before your wedding, it's a fantastic idea to review the entire proposal plan from start to finish, leaving no room for error in pulling off the perfect surprise.
  • Keep it between the two of you for maximum intimacy. The more private the setting, the lower the chances of unexpected hiccups. However, if you want to involve friends or family, ensure they're well-hidden to prevent potential mishaps.

I trust these tips will alleviate some stress when planning your surprise proposal. I strongly suggest locating an experienced photographer to assist you with the logistics and offer valuable recommendations for this exciting moment!
